There are so many things to see and do in the local area, there are walks galore across the stunning North York Moors National Park.
It’s also just 25 miles to Grosmont, where you travel via steam train across the North York Moors Railway and over the Larpool Viaduct.
If you fancy a trip to the seaside you’ll be spoilt for choice with Redcar, Whitby, Staithes and Saltburn-by-the-sea, to name just a few of the scenic and welcoming towns on the Yorkshire coast.

Stewart Park

With its 120 acres of woodland and open parkland, this is the perfect spot for a wander. Opened in 1928, Stewart Park holds a Green Flag Award from the Civic Trust and the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum can also be found in the grounds of the park.

Rievaulx Abbey

The incredible ruins of Rievaulx Abbey are set against the backdrop of the North Yorkshire Moors and provide a breath-taking look back at the lives and history of the monks who called it home. Dating back to 1132, Rievaulx Abbey was one of the great abbeys in England until it was seized in 1538 under King Henry VIII.

North York Moors National Park
