Owner Stories: Nikki and Nev
Owners at Angrove Country Park Since 2023
For Nicola and Neville (Nikki and Nev), buying a holiday lodge at Angrove wasn’t about making an investment. It was about investing in their lifestyle. Almost years after becoming owners, they reflect on what made them choose Angrove, the sense of community they’ve found, and why they have no regrets about taking the leap into lodge ownership.
Finding a place that felt like home
After owning a caravan on the coast, Nikki and Nev were ready for a different kind of escape. Angrove Leisure Resort had always caught their eye as they drove past on their way to and from their previous holiday home.
“It was almost as if the car wanted to turn in and say, ‘We’re home now.’”
After watching the park for some time, the right opportunity finally came along.
“We’d been keeping an eye on the park for a while, and when this lodge came up, we jumped at it. It was just the right lodge at the right time.”
The buying process only confirmed they were making the right decision. Rather than feeling pressured, they were able to take their time, ask questions and understand exactly what ownership involved.
“We sat down over a couple of coffees and talked everything through. The site fees were explained clearly, there weren’t any unexpected surprises. Everything was transparent and it was just straightforward, easy to do business with.”
Somewhere to switch off
Nearly three years later, Angrove has become much more than a holiday destination, it’s somewhere they can truly relax, surrounded by nature and a community they’ve come to know well.
“It’s a community on site. There’s always somebody to catch up with and have a chat with.”
The welcoming atmosphere was something they noticed from the very first visit, and it’s one of the reasons they knew Angrove was the right fit. Since becoming owners, they’ve also enjoyed seeing the continued investment in the park.
“You can see there’s always something happening to keep driving standards up.”
It’s the little moments that make each visit special.
“I love opening the blinds and seeing the wildlife outside. There was a hare outside one morning, and it’s little things like that that make a world of difference.”
More than a holiday home
The relationships they’ve built have become just as important as the surroundings. Whether it’s chatting to neighbours or catching up with the team, they always feel welcome.
“The staff know us and we know them. If we ever need anything, there’s always somebody there. Over the last three years, they’ve become friends. It really does feel like family coming here every weekend.”
That sense of belonging extends to the owner events too, where they’ve met like minded people and built lasting friendships.
“The owner events are always fantastic. Whether it’s a barbecue, a Christmas party or another event, they’re a great way to get to know other owners.”
Investing in a lifestyle
For Nikki and Nev, buying a lodge was never about making money. They understood exactly what they were buying and what mattered most to them.
“We knew a lodge depreciates, just like a car does, but that’s not why we bought it. We’re buying a lifestyle. It’s an investment in us and in our quality of life.”
Looking back, they wouldn’t change a thing.
“We’ve got absolutely no regrets. Just having this space to retreat to, even on a cold winter’s day when you’re tucked up in the lodge, is lovely.”
And their advice for anyone considering lodge ownership at Angrove?
“Just do it. We don’t regret it for a minute.”
