Reasons to Own a Holiday Lodge
Holiday lodge ownership gives you somewhere that is yours to return to whenever you want. Whether you are looking for more time outdoors, somewhere to escape to at weekends or a place where family and friends can spend time together, owning a lodge can make getting away part of everyday life.
At Leisure Resorts, our three resorts are set in some of the most beautiful areas of North Yorkshire and the North Lakes, giving you a choice of locations, landscapes and experiences.
Here are some of the reasons our owners choose to make Leisure Resorts their home away from home.
1. Have your own place to escape to
There is something different about having your own holiday lodge.
You know exactly where you are going, what to expect when you arrive and where everything is. There is no need to pack your entire house into the car or spend time searching for somewhere to stay.
Keep your favourite things at your lodge, arrive when it suits you and settle straight into your own space.
Our resorts are open throughout the year, so you can enjoy your lodge across every season, from spring walks and summer days outdoors to crisp autumn weekends and winter escapes.
2. Spend more time in the places you love
Our resorts are all surrounded by countryside, with plenty to explore nearby.
At Angrove Country Park in North Yorkshire, you are within easy reach of the North York Moors, the Yorkshire coast and towns including Great Ayton, Stokesley and Saltburn.
Aysgarth sits in Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales, close to some of the area’s best known walking routes, villages and attractions.
Ullswater Heights is set across 59 acres of Lakeland countryside around its own private lake, with Ullswater, Pooley Bridge, Keswick and the wider Lake District all within easy reach. For owners, it means having the Lakes on your doorstep whenever you want to explore.
3. Make getting away easier
Holiday lodge ownership can make spontaneous breaks much simpler.
Instead of deciding where to go and booking accommodation every time you want a few days away, you already have somewhere to stay.
Many of our owners live within a few hours of their resort, making it possible to head away for a weekend, a midweek break or a longer stay without having to plan months in advance.
And when you arrive, your lodge is already set up for you.
Our complimentary concierge service can also help with things such as accepting shopping deliveries, turning on your heating before arrival and helping with arrangements during your stay.
4. Enjoy a lodge that feels like your own
Modern holiday lodges are designed to give you many of the comforts of home, with spacious living areas, fully equipped kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and private outdoor space.
Depending on the lodge you choose, you could have features including hot tubs, large decking areas, spacious open plan living areas and views across the surrounding countryside.
The important thing is finding a lodge that works for how you want to use it, whether that means somewhere for quiet weekends as a couple or enough space for the whole family.
5. Bring the people who matter most
One of the biggest benefits of owning a holiday lodge is being able to share it with the people you love.
Spend a weekend with the grandchildren, bring the dog along for a countryside escape or invite friends to join you for dinner.
Our resorts are designed around outdoor living, good food, countryside and time together, with on site bars and restaurants at each location.
Owners can also benefit from a 20% discount on holidays for friends and family, making it easier to share the Leisure Resorts experience with the people closest to you.
6. Bring your dog too
If your dog is part of the family, you do not have to leave them behind.
Our resorts are dog friendly, with plenty of countryside and walking routes nearby.
Ullswater Heights is particularly popular with dog owners, with dogs welcome in The Lake House and plenty of space around the resort to explore together.
At Angrove and Aysgarth, the surrounding countryside also provides plenty of opportunities to get out for a walk before returning to your lodge for a relaxing evening.
7. Enjoy exclusive owner benefits
Ownership comes with a range of benefits designed to make your time at Leisure Resorts even more enjoyable.
Owners receive:
• 15% off food and drink at our bars and restaurants
• 20% off holidays for friends and family
• A complimentary off peak stay at another Leisure Resorts resort
• Complimentary WiFi
• Access to our concierge service
• Owner events and opportunities to meet other members of the community
Each resort also has its own facilities and experiences, from The Lake House at Ullswater Heights to Falls End at Aysgarth and G&Tea House at Angrove.
8. Enjoy more confidence around your ownership costs
Buying a holiday lodge is a significant decision, which is why we believe it is important to be clear about the costs involved.
Your annual site fee covers services including piped gas, water, refuse, landscaping, security and access to our concierge service.
We also have a Site Fee Promise, meaning annual site fee increases will never exceed 6%.
New owners also receive their first 12 months of site fees included from handover, with our Site Fee Choices giving you the option to use that credit upfront or spread the benefit across the first few years of ownership.
You can read more about how our Site Fee Choices work here.
9. Have a longer licence period
We want our owners to enjoy their lodges for many years.
New lodges purchased from October 2025 come with an initial 50 year licence, giving you a clear licence period from the beginning of your ownership.
Pre owned lodges have a licence based on the original new licence period, less the years since manufacture.
You can read more about our licence tenures and how they work here.
10. Explore finance options
For some buyers, finance can make purchasing a holiday lodge more manageable by spreading the cost over an agreed period.
Leisure Resorts is a credit broker, not a lender, and can introduce customers to finance providers including Santander and DF Capital. Finance is subject to status, eligibility and lender criteria.
Our team can explain the finance options available and help you understand the process before you make a decision.
11. Enjoy more from your favourite destination
Every Leisure Resorts location offers something different.
Angrove Country Park, North Yorkshire
Angrove is surrounded by the countryside of North Yorkshire, with the North York Moors and Yorkshire coast both within easy reach.
The resort is home to G&Tea House, offering wood fired pizzas, drinks and a relaxed place to meet friends and family.
Ullswater Heights, North Lakes
Set across 59 acres of Lakeland countryside and built around its own lake, Ullswater Heights is a peaceful base for exploring the Lake District.
The resort is close to Ullswater and Pooley Bridge, while Keswick and the wider Lake District are within easy reach.
Owners can enjoy The Lake House, a relaxed on site bar and restaurant, alongside the surrounding countryside and views towards the fells.
Aysgarth, Yorkshire Dales
Aysgarth is set in Wensleydale, surrounded by the landscapes and villages of the Yorkshire Dales.
The resort offers a peaceful base for exploring the Dales, with plenty of walking, cycling, food and local attractions nearby.
Falls End provides an on site place to eat and relax after a day exploring the surrounding countryside.
12. Become part of an owner community
Holiday lodge ownership is not just about the lodge itself.
Across our three resorts, we have friendly owner communities made up of people who return time and again to enjoy their favourite place.
We organise owner events throughout the year and our resort teams get to know the people who own here.
For many owners, that sense of community becomes an important part of the Leisure Resorts experience.
Is a holiday lodge right for you?
Holiday lodge ownership is a big decision, so it is important to consider both the benefits and the ongoing costs before making a purchase.
A lodge is a holiday home rather than a residential property, and our resorts operate under a 12 month holiday licence. This means you can enjoy your lodge throughout the year, but it cannot be used as your permanent residence.
It is also important to consider annual site fees, the costs of maintaining your lodge and the terms of the licence.
Our aim is to make those details clear from the beginning, so you can decide whether lodge ownership is right for you.
You can find more information about the costs, licences, finance and buying process in our [Ownership Hub].
