The Han family first discovered Ullswater Heights on a family holiday just after Covid. Their two boys were still young, and it didn’t take long for everyone to fall in love with the park.

“We’d already been here two or three times and really enjoyed it. The boys loved it.”

During that very first stay, they joked that one day they’d own a lodge at Ullswater Heights. They never imagined that conversation would become a reality so quickly.

“On our third visit, I was making dinner while my husband popped into the sales office for a look around. He came back and said, ‘I’ve just put a deposit down on one!’”

Their spontaneous decision marked the beginning of their lodge ownership journey.

Finding their forever lodge

Four years later, the family knew they were ready for more space, but there was never any question about moving somewhere else.

“We knew we wanted a bigger lodge, but we wanted to stay on the park.”

When the perfect lodge became available, the team got in touch straight away.

“They sent us videos because we couldn’t get there in person. As soon as we saw it, we knew it was the right one for us.”

Rather than feeling rushed, they were encouraged to take their time.

“They just handed us the keys and said: spend the day here, have a look around and get a feel for it. There was no pressure at all.”

A buying process built around communication

For the Han family, one of the biggest positives was how supported they felt throughout the buying process.

“Kianna kept us updated the whole time. We always knew where we stood and her communication was brilliant”

As they explored finance options, every step was explained clearly, helping them make informed decisions.

“We needed a little bit of assistance financially, and everything was explained to us. The application was straightforward and the whole process felt seamless.”

What stood out most was the regular communication.

“I’m a stickler for communication, and Kianna was brilliant. She kept in touch with emails, text messages and updates throughout, which made such a big difference.”

A place the whole family loves

Today, Ullswater Heights is somewhere the whole family looks forward to returning to. One of the things they value most is the freedom that lodge ownership gives them. Every visit can be completely different, depending on how they feel.

“The boys love it here and we can be as relaxed or as active as we want. If the weather isn’t great, we’ll just relax in the lodge or enjoy the hot tub. When the sun’s out, there’s loads to do around here.”

Would they recommend lodge ownership?

Looking back, the Han family can’t imagine choosing anywhere else.

What started as a holiday destination has become their home from home, giving them the freedom to enjoy the Lake District whenever they choose.
